Oh man I loved Strong Guy as a kid. I mean, look at him. No subtlety whatsoever. Not in his look, not in his name, not in his power (the more you hit him, the stronger he gets). His real name is Guido Carosella (only Guido is revealed on the card).

With such a broad character it’s actually super easy to get too loose with the art. Luckily, Lee not only treats the art with respect (giving the most sense of true mass and dimension to the most cartoony mutant character there is) via tight rendering, appropriate posing, while also giving the character the sense of fun he deserves.

His Power Ratings hold up when held up against Colossus and Warpath, the two other heavies we’ve seen so far. Fairly enough, their ratings are all the same, except Guido’s Fighting Ability is notched down by one to 3/7. Fair enough; I can see Guido being so strong he doesn’t need to know how to fight; but at 3/7 he joins notable noncombatants like Meggan, Jubilee, and Boom Boom.

Though, given Strong Guy’s proclivities, I’m sure he’d be fine with such company.
