Speaking of looking Asian, Psylocke’s Oriental transformation took place early in Lee’s watch, during which the entire X-saga underwent a distinct Asianification, even more than when Frank Miller turned Wolverine into a Samurai. Of course, not long after Lee left, the Eastern influences started getting swept under. Ironically, in Psylocke’s case, it just made her already convoluted history even more convoluted (and confused me as a kid, since I entered X-comics with Psylocke already looking like a slanty-eyed sexbomb).

Incidentally, Lee’s impassioned renderings of Psylocke (seriously, look at Lee’s art all throughout this period; she comes off as being the character that Lee most loved to draw) were what inspired me to start drawing women to begin with. For better or worse, I’ve never been able to shake the influence completely.

BTW, Is it even POSSIBLE for Asian women’s bodies, even when possessed by the spirit of stately British women, capable of being 5’11″ and 155 pounds??

I always consider this era Psylocke as one of the sluttiest costumes in a world of slutty costumes.

What in the world is going on with those legs of hers? Her thigh is as big as her entire torso/head combined? I remember thinking Lee had terrible proportions back in the day, but I forgot just how awful it could get.
